Sefirin Kızı (transl. »Daughter of the Ambassador») is a Turkish drama television series directed by Emre Kabakuşak and written by Ayşe Ferda Eryılmaz and Sedef Nehir Erdem. It consists of two seasons, the first of which aired on December 16, 2019, and concluded on June 22, 2020. The second season premiered on September 7, 2020. The series was originally starring Neslihan Atagül and Engin Akyürek in the lead roles, but Atagül announced on January 18, 2021 that she would depart from the series due to leaky gut syndrome and she was replaced by Tuba Büyüküstün.Sancar, the son of a Gariban half-boy, falls in love with Nare, the daughter of an ambassador who came to Bodrum when he was still a child.
These two opposite children love each other very much and struggle for their love for years. In the end, the girl runs away to the boy, but on the night they meet, Nare suddenly disappears. No one sees him again.
Some say he fell into the sea, died, some say the ambassador’s daughter or fled to Europe. A lover also burns them a song, says that the daughter of the ambassador became a calico bird and flew. Thus, the unhappy story of Nare and Sancar turns into an epic.
Nine years later, the daughter of the ambassador, who disappeared on a wedding night, appears on another wedding night. Moreover, this wedding is Sancar’s wedding and brought her daughter to him.

On the insist of Sancar, she tells that she has been harassed and raped at home by someone. After discussing the truth to Sancar, Nare decides to leave his life and disappears.
On the other hand, most of the people think Nare has died. After 8 years, Sancar decides to move on in his life, but again, Nare appears again on his wedding ceremony with a girl Melek. She tells people that Melek is the daughter of Sancar. All in all, it’s full of emotions and Turkish suspense series that you must watch this year. No doubt, more surprising will come in this drama of Engin Akyürek.
